Heirloom of Memories - Stephanie Majak

She said to me, I want to make something for you that's going to make you shine. And I knew that I would get something back from her that I would really care about, that would be special for me, that would make me feel really unique. She took the stones from my anniversary ring and arranged them around the diamond studs that she had made for me [previously.] These diamond earrings are something that I will wear proudly every day and will without a doubt, pass along to my daughter. – Stephanie Majak on Mimi

In the aftermath of a divorce, many women face the conundrum of what to do with their engagement and wedding rings. On one hand, these diamond rings represent vestiges of happier times, and on the other, they can represent what a couple built during the time they were together, be it a family or other milestone. While some women choose to keep their rings, some sell them, and others transform them into new and meaningful pieces to be celebrated in a different way. Stephanie Majak found herself in just this position.

Years ago, Stephanie and her former husband purchased a diamond eternity band from Mimi to celebrate a milestone in their marriage. Later on, things didn’t stick, and they went their separate ways. After consulting with Mimi on what to do with the beautiful diamonds from her ring, Stephanie knew she was going to end up with something truly uplifting to make her shine brightly. It would be something to define the next chapter of her life.

Here, Stephanie shares her process and the story of her diamond ring’s renewal: "I was married at one point, and am no longer married. I wanted to do something with an anniversary ring that I had and I didn't know what to do with it. She said to me, I want to make something for you that's going to make you shine. And I knew that I would get something back from her that I would really care about, that would be special for me, that would make me feel really unique. She took the stones from my anniversary ring and arranged them around the diamond studs that she had made for me [previously.] These diamond earrings are something that I will wear proudly every day and will without a doubt, pass along to my daughter."
