“When I saw the Phoenix and understood the story behind it, I know why it spoke to me. Because it represents freedom, and spirituality and empowerment.”
On any given day, entrepreneur and start-up advisor Stephanie Stahl can be found wearing a number of treasured diamond necklaces including a sagittarius constellation or her much loved lucky diamond horseshoe. “I wear my diamond wedding band and engagement ring every day,” she explains, “I like to switch watches depending on the day — either a black diamond Patek, a Cartier Panther, an Hermes Apple Watch or a Shinola. I tend to wear my diamond stud earrings a lot, or hoops in a range of metals.” Sometimes she’ll add an ear climber or cuff to add a modern look to the mix. “I wear a lot of different bracelets,” she continues, “ and often layer them. And always a necklace, single or layered.”
Stephanie has been a collector and friend to Mimi for years. At their first meeting, she was transfixed by a certain diamond necklace, the double Phoenix pendant in one of the showroom displays. "I couldn't take my eyes off it," she muses. “The Phoenix collection represents perseverance, overcoming obstacles in life and rising through the ashes. It's a symbol almost anyone can relate to.” Here Stephanie shares how she came to own her first Mimi So jewel: “I walked into this room [Mimi’s atelier] when I was here for a meeting. There were a lot of beautiful pieces on display, but I couldn’t take my eyes off this one. Mimi called my husband Jack around December and said, ‘there’s something you really need to see.’ He gifted it to her that month during a weekend getaway.
“When I saw the Phoenix and understood the story behind it, I know why it spoke to me. Because it represents freedom, and spirituality and empowerment.” Today, it’s a piece she wears often, from daytime to nighttime. She’ll pair it with anything from “a black sweater, jeans and boots; a white t-shirt, jacket and pumps or a cocktail dress.” Anything she wants to bring up a notch. “The Phoenix collection speaks to strength, resilience and beauty. I am in the proverbial back nine of my life; I have a lot I want to accomplish, contribute and influence. Like everyone, I have had setbacks, losses and moments of despair. The Phoenix speaks to finding a way to rise up again, to bring others up with you - to graciously and relentlessly power on and even to soar.”Watch More #HeirloomofMemories Videos
